The topic of diversity and inclusion and equal opportunities in an organisation is becoming more and more topical and is not only linked to the employer’s image or the expectation of better financial performance, but also to the emotional well-being of employees. The commitment to sustainability promoted by the European Commission is also a reminder of the need to focus not only on climate change, but also on social change, and that diversity and inclusion contribute directly to a more sustainable world.

Vilma – is an expert in diversity and inclusion, facilitator of trainings. Vilma regularly consults and trains organisations on issues of inclusion and diversity management, creating a safe and respectful working environment, and is the chair of the board of the Diversity Charter Lithuania.

Giedrė – is a communication expert who has been working in this field for more than 10 years. Giedrė conducts trainings, participates in conferences, consults and helps companies achieve their strategic goals. Her work has been recognized with awards in Lithuania, Europe and worldwide.

PROGRAM

During the training, we will delve deeper into these issues:

  • How to understand diversity and inclusion?
  • How to start communicating on this topic with the management team? How to start to communicate with employees?
  • Where are we? What helps to assess the current situation and the desired outcome (specific tools, groups and other support tools)?
  • How to prepare an action plan for 3 months and one year?
  • How can we apply good communication practices in our organisation?
  • At the end, we will leave time for your questions, answers and discussion.

The training will take place from 1 pm to 4 pm.

Diversity is nothing less than a set of identities for each of us. In creating an inclusive organisation, it is important to look at how our personal identity traits such as gender, nationality, (dis) ability, age, religion, social status affect us on a daily basis – both at a personal and organisational level. What does an organisation need to think about in order to respond to the needs of different groups and to create a safe and respectful working environment? Bringing these themes to the workplace, inclusion ambassadors note that organisations may face challenges, resistance from employees, confusion about which topics to prioritise and which ones to communicate (and how?). During the workshop you will learn about the concepts of Diversity and Inclusion, gain insights into how our attitudes influence decision-making, what inclusion tools and instruments can be useful and what kind of communication your organisation is ripe for.
